AR Conducts Motivational Lecture on “Martyr’s Day”

The Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organized a motivational lecture on “Martyr’s Day” at Comet School, Changangei, on Monday.
The lectured was organized to spread awareness among the students about the supreme sacrifices and also to narrate the saga of the Indian freedom fighters, a statement by IGAR (South) informed. Annually, 30th January is observed as Martyr’s Day pan India, as it marks the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948, it added. Over 250 students of Class XI and XII of the school attended the lecture. The lecture was commenced by observing a two minutes silence in memory of the Indian martyrs. Thereafter the students were briefed in detail about the various sacrifices and hardships faced by the Indian freedom fighters that led to independence of India in 1947, it stated. It also mentioned that contemplating the curiosity of the students and their inquisitiveness on joining the Indian Armed Forces, a session on choosing Indian Armed forces as a career option was also organized wherein the students were imparted knowledge about the various types of entry schemes. The principal and the students appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles and also requested to regularly organize such events in future as well, it added.
