Dist Administrations Celebrate R-day

District administrations in the state also celebrated 70th Republic day on Saturday at their respective district headquarters.
In order to honours the date on which the constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India, the District administration, Tamenlong celebrated the 70th Republic day at the lower ground, Tamenlong Headquarter. Ravinder Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Tamenlong, unfurled the national flag and took the March past contingent Republic Day salute from parade contingents.
All together 25(twenty five) contingents consisting of 5th MR platoon, Manipur civil police, VDF and schools students and ASHA took the March past a distance of nearly 2km from Zadonang park till the republic day venue.
Mr Joshia Pamei,MPS, SDPO, Tamenlong was the overall parade commander of the March contingents. Deputy commissioner of Tamenlong, Shri Ravinder Singh IAS, in his chief guest speech highlighted the various developmental work that has been taken up in Tamenlong. Since Lok sabha election is coming he also urged the people of Tamenlong to come out and exercise their votes. Deputy Commissioner also launched a helpline number 1950 to register and complaint the grievances of the Tamenlong District. As a part of the republic day celebration 15(fifteen) merit of certificate award was given to different departments of Tamenlong District administration. Mr. Tongbram Atul Kumar Singh Sound Assistant, District Iinformation Office (IPR), Tamenlong also received the award. On this day deputy commissioner of Tamenlong also released a DIPR Tamenlong District news bulletin. Sports materials to the various youth club of Tamenlong District were also distributed and Red Woolen blankets were also distributed to senior citizens of Tamenlong. 23rd Assam rifles under the theme “Know Your Army” also display different weapons, arms and ammunition on the Republic day. As a part of the celebration friendly football match is also played between DC, XI and SP, XI.
The District Administration, Tamenglong and Divisional Forest Officer, Tamenglong also awarded a Certificates of Appreciation and a cash of Rs 5000 each to Mrs. Esther Pamei, Tamenglong, Alum Gangmei of Taijijang village and Gaidimlung Kamei of Bamgaijang village for their love and compassion of valuable wildlife and also for their contribution in conserving the Wildlife of Tamenglong.
This year Republic Day is celebrated with a great pride and enthusiasm throughout the district of Tamenlong. District Administration, Kangpokpi celebrated the “70th Republic Day” at the DC Office Complex, Kangpokpi. The celebration began with the unfurling the tricolour National Flag by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shri Joel G Haokip, MCS, who was present as Chief Guest of the function. Shri Sony Siem Go Sang, MPS, SDPO of Kangpokpi Police commanded the Parade which includes contingents of District Police, Kangpokpi, ICDS, ASHA workers, NCC and several government and private schools in the district including JNV, MBC School, Elite Hr. Sec. School, Diamond English School, PM Academy, etc. In his address to the public, ADC, Kangpokpi Shri Joel G Haokip, MCS, stated the significance of being a Republic and the importance of the role of the people in a Republic. While expressing his pleasure of being a citizen of a republic country like India, he showed his humble gratitude to Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution, and other members of the Constitution Drafting Committee. The ADC also lauded the District Police, NCC and the school students for their active participation in Republic Day celebration and other such important national and state celebrations.
A Republic Day special issue of “Kangpokpi Today”, published by District Information Office, Kangpokpi was released by the Chief Guest during the celebration. And as done in the preceding years, certificates for recognition of commendable service were given to several staff and officials belonging to different departments in the district. Red blankets and sports materials were also distributed to the village chiefs and local clubs in the district respectively. The celebration concluded with the performance of cultural programmes by different troupes from various parts of the district. In Thoubal, the 70th Republic Day was celebrated at Mini Secretariate Complex,Thoubal with much pomp,gaiety and amidst large turnout of people. Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Smt.Haobam Rosita unfurled the National Flag and took salute of 18 parade contingent which include the State Police, Home Guards, NCC, students from various schools and cultural troupes. Shri E.Lalringum Pulamte, MPS,SDPO Yairipok was the Parade Commander.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said various welfare schemes have been set up and implemented in the District. Computerization of land records have been completed in 69 villages. Eight Primary Health Centre have been upgraded to Health and Wellness Centre. 58 camps of Go to Village was held which cover 141 villages in the District.
Meritorious awards were distributed to the 193 officers and staffs of various departments. Elected members of Municipal Council, Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayats, high ranking civil and police officials of the District, school students and public participated in the celebration.
