Thai Princess arrives Imphal, set to meet Manipur King

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Kingdom of Thailand was today accorded warm welcome led by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N. Biren Singh on her maiden visit to Manipur. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is visiting the State to attend the ongoing Sangai Festival 2018.
The Air India plane carrying the Princess landed at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport at 5.00 pm. The Princess was accompanied by officials of Royal Thai Embassy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand, Media Team from Thailand and also the officials of Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N. Biren Singh, PHED Minister Shri Losii Dikho, Agriculture Minister Shri V. Hangkhalian, Chief Secretary, Manipur Dr. J. Suresh Babu, DGP Shri L.M. Khaute and other high level Government Officers, top police personnel received the Princess at the airport tarmac.
The Princess is on a 2 Day visit to Imphal to witness the Annual Manipuri Sangai Festival, 2018. During her stay she will visit Sendra, Keibul Lamjao and Kangla as part of her official tour programme.
The Thailand Princess will meet Manipur titular King Leishemba Sanajaoba at old Manipur royal palace Kangla tomorrow at about 3.30 pm. All preparations has been made for the meeting, a source.
Manipur King and state chief minister N Biren will present gifts to the Thai princess and discuss regarding strengthening ties between Thailand and Manipur. It is said that the Thai princess will visit the various sites inside Kangla.
